Product Code: RB0007

Description

Detailed, well researched and written history of the first modern industrial center for the production of iron using the blast furnace and hard, anthracite coal. This book is the first attempt to relate the story of the Lehigh Valley's iron industry in a comprehensive manner. It is the end product of the efforts of many individuals. Without the historical knowledge of the authors and the archival resources of the Hugh Moore Historical Park and Museums, and the Lehigh County Historical Society it could not have been compiled. Without the cooperation of scholars such as James Lee and Brian Morrell, the stories of many furnaces could not have been related. Most importantly, it was the editing and many hours of devoted labor by Ann Bartholomew that gave this work its final form. Softcover
