Among Baldwin’s post-steam offerings was the RF-16, nicknamed “Sharknose” because of its distinctive cab profile. Introduced in 1948, the Sharknose was an instant classic with modern streamlined looks and a reputation as an excellent hauler, frequently used in ore and coal service.
